RGV FC Youth Soccer Academy is a true pathway to professional soccer. We participate in the following sanctioned leagues:

Multiple coaches will evaluate each player. Each player’s technical ability, first touch, soccer IQ, general behavior, maturity level, and previous experience will be assessed during tryouts, as well as during the early part of the season.

Yes, but each player will be individually assessed and placed in the age group and team that will give them the best opportunity to succeed and grow as a soccer player and individual.

Tryouts are comprised of three evaluation days that are all mandatory to attend.  After Day 1, the Toros staff will extend an invitation to all players that are being invited to join the Academy.  At this time, the parents will receive the RGV FC Toros Academy contract.  After Day 3 of tryouts, coaches will meet with each player and parent and provide a brief evaluation of the player’s performance and expected level of entry into the club (example, a U14 player may be offered a place on the MLS team or on a USC Champions League team). 

We believe that if a player completes the three days of tryouts, including the player evaluation with the staff, the intent of the family is to join RGV FC Toros Academy. 

We require a firm commitment to be made by the parents and player within 24 hours, 1 day, after tryouts have ended. Roster spots will not be held, all roster spots (including MLS and ECNL) will be immediately released to the parents and players who are committing to the club.

Important: ACCEPTANCE OF A ROSTER SPOT IS CONFIRMED ONLY WHEN COMMITMENT PAPERWORK IS TURNED IN AND THE $150.00 COMMITMENT FEE IS PAID.

No, but the $150 commitment fee is due upon signing the commitment to join the RGV FC Toros Academy. The remainder of the fee can be paid over an 8 month period. A payment schedule will be provided at the time of commitment. Uniforms have to be paid at the time of ordering directly thru our vendor. (soccer.com)

The practice times and locations will be available shortly after tryouts conclude. Locations and frequency of practices are based on the leagues that teams participate on.

Yes, and each session is 1 ½ hours long. If a player misses a session they are expected to (1) communicate before they miss training with their coach and explain why they are missing, and (2) arrange to make-up the missed trainman session by attending an additional session with the coach’s approval.

The training fees DO NOT include mandatory tournaments, elective tournaments, showcases or personal travel costs.

NO. The cost of the required uniform package will range from $300-$450, depending on size and team. The uniform has to be purchased through a personalized email from soccer.com. This email will be generated once the player is assigned to a team and the required information is given to the team manager. Goalkeepers (GKs) are required to buy GK package thru our vendor. If the GK is a field player as well, they are required to purchase a field player kit as well. Uniforms will be used for the 2-year seasons, extending from 2019-2021.

Aid is available to families that demonstrate qualified financial need. There is a strict Application review process in place. An a pplication form must be completed and submitted to be considered. The Executive Director with the approval of the Board awards aid. Directors ONLY, never a coach. Any award received applies only to training fees.

Commitment fee ($150) is still due at the time of signing. There is no financial aid for travel; MLS Players will have to provide required information to US Soccer for travel assistance
